TORONTO, ONTARIO–(Marketwire – April 22, 2010) - The Travel Health Insurance Association of Canada is advising travellers who have trip cancellation, interruption or delay insurance, and have been affected by volcanic ash disruptions, to contact their insurers or assistance providers for information about their coverage, for help while they are travelling and for setting up claims.
Most Canadian travel insurance companies have considered the disruption to travel resulting from the volcanoes in Iceland as an event that is covered if the insurance was purchased or in effect before April 14, the start of the volcano eruption. In addition, if travellers were stranded beyond the expiration dates of their policies, coverage is most often being extended until the insured traveller is able to return home, at no additional cost.

FLINT, UNITED KINGDOM–(Marketwire – April 22, 2010) – Staveley Head, one of the UK’s leading motor trade insurance providers, reported last year that there is a growing incidence of burglars stealing car ignition keys from inside homes in order to drive away cars parked on the driveway or held in unsecured garages. If keys are left on a table or a wall mounted key rack in the hall, thieves will frequently “fish” the keys using a long hook- ended pole through the letter box of the front door.
These concerns have recently been confirmed by statistics revealed by the AA which suggest that every day at least 53 home-owners report that their cars have been stolen following the theft of car keys from their homes during the course of a burglary.
