MCLEAN, Va., May 12 (UPI) — Science Applications International Corp. said Tuesday it has been selected to provide the U.S. Army Sustainment Command with materiel management support.
Virginia’s SAIC received the prime contract to supply its technical personnel at the Army’s Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois supporting the Distribution Management Center under the Army Sustainment Command.
Under the $128 million contract, SAIC will provide the Distribution Management Center with centralized materiel management control services that will support the agency’s contingency and sustainment support of logistics integration operations.
SAIC says the contract includes material distribution support to help the Army Sustainment Command to provide deployed troops with a ready supply of necessary equipment and other logistics needs.
“SAIC is pleased to support Army Sustainment Command’s important mission — helping ensure that our soldiers have what they need, when and where they need it,” Glenn San Giacomo, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager, said in a statement.
