A toll-free legal-aid line will be available for Tennessee victims of recent storms and flooding in 21 counties designated as federal disaster areas beginning today at 9 a.m.
The service allows callers to seek assistance of a lawyer.
A partnership among the Tennessee Bar Association, local bar associations and legal organizations in the state is providing the service.
Victims may call 888-395-9297 between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Messages can be left at all hours. Callers should identify that they are seeking flood-related legal help. Victims who qualify will be matched with lawyers who have volunteered to provide free legal aid.
