MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., May 6 (UPI) — Defense company Lockheed Martin has been selected to integrate an asset management and logistics suite supporting the U.S. National Airspace System.
The Federal Aviation Administration selected the Lockheed Martin-led team, which includes ABeam Consulting, IFS, Principal Technologies and Xyant Technology, to integrate the Logistics Center Support System.
“We’re honored to provide an advanced solution to the FAA that helps to maintain the reliability of critical parts and equipment in our nation’s airspace system,” Jim Trettel, Lockheed Martin Unified Logistics Solutions director said in a statement.
The Lockheed Martin team will provide re-engineering, software configuration and test services among other requirements for the LCSS, a next-generation mission critical logistics suite based on 14 legacy systems.
Officials say the LCSS, developed using cost effective commercial off-the-shelf technologies, is part of the FAA’s effort to secure, streamline and modernize critical logistics operations.
