CRAWLEY, England, April 26 (UPI) — Aerospace company Thales announced Monday that its A320 simulator technology was certified ready for training for its customer in France.
Thales said it received “Ready for Training” certification for its A320 RealitySeven simulator planned for customer Airbus. The simulator uses digital electrical control loading and electric motion systems couples in an efficient power system while boasting reliability of more than 99 percent, the company said.
Marion Broughton, vice president of the avionics and training division at Thales, said this was the first RealitySeven to get the “Ready for Training” certifications.
“The team at Airbus has been very supportive and we look forward to continuing to build on the synergies established in this program,” he added.
Thales said it invested more than $150 million at its flagship facility in Crawley, England. The Crawley site consists of 12 full-flight simulator and four fixed-base simulator bays.
The RealitySeven full-flight simulator includes a common docking station that can accommodate different aircraft modules.
Thales added the RealitySeven is designed to have a low carbon footprint.
